Launched in 1962, Lillet Rouge is a robust and velvety wine-based aperitif that brings a deeper, more structured character to the classic Podensac range. It is crafted from a base of high-quality Bordeaux red wines—primarily Merlot—blended with the same artisanal fruit liqueurs and cinchona bark macerations that define the Lillet house style. The aperitif displays a beautiful, deep ruby red colour in the glass. On the nose, it offers an intense bouquet of black cherries, fresh raspberries and blackberries, complemented by subtle notes of warm spices and vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and fleshy, featuring a sophisticated balance between the natural sweetness of the fruit and the gentle, tannic structure of the red wine base. Lillet Rouge is best enjoyed thoroughly chilled or over ice, often garnished with a slice of orange to highlight its bright berry notes.
