A guard for the control wheel to prevent accidental inputs when using a camera strap. On some cameras like the Leica M3 the meter sits far enough back that when using a camera stra p accidental inputs are a possibility when the camera hangs in an active state. While using the snap fit case or manually turning the meter off (double tap the button and hold the second tap for a second to shut the meter off) are alternatives in some cases, this is hardware solution to the problem. The guard is still compatible with the snap fit case, it uses the threads of the left mount for the foot, so only the default right oriented mount and middle mount are available then.
