Hand carved Highland sea shells with a steel and recycled piano wire base. As they grow bigger, like tree rings, seashells have seasonal growth lines that are sometimes visible fro m the outside. They hold a treasure trove of detailed information about the changing ocean, when volcanoes erupted or hurricanes struck. These lines can sometimes form into natural phenomena resembling patterns of light and shadow that might seem familiar, in the same way we see a face in the Moon.
