Why this chanter Over two-octave range in A — down to low D and up to high D. Entirely keyless: preserves standard SSP fingering from low G to high A. Return-bore design the core innovation in bridging from one octave to three, without keys, this also assists in providing smooth and stable tone. Repertoire unlocked: airs, contemporary lines, film/score colours, session versatility. Integrated tuning system (visible in photos) for precise, adjustable intonation. About the chanter Developed in Scotland between 2006–2018 by Donald WG Lindsay, the Lindsay System Chanter is the original two-octave Scottish smallpipes chanter at the core of Lindstruments’ work. The design has been covered in Piping Today (2018–2020), and three early prototype sets are now held by the National Piping Centre’s Museum of Piping in Glasgow.
