Two industries were dominant in the area: plantation agriculture and the Chicago Mill and Lumber Company. There was a Coca Cola bottling company and an ice cream plant that sometimes offered three dip cones. Tallulah had a woman lawyer, a woman doctor and a black veterinarian. Now the town is graced by the outstanding Hermione House Museum. Tallulah provided a rich environment for the authorÕs growing up. This is a book of poems written throughout her life. Show more
