StoryCrimson Rift takes the Linear Shift form into its most saturated register — a field of hand-applied stripe that reads from across a room as a deep, continuous red, and resolves up close into distinct bands of crimson, oxide, and dark lacquer. Built on a fiberglass sphere, the color is applied in successive passes with tape masking: each layer set, tape removed, stripe revealed at a precision no freehand technique can match. As the surface curves away from the viewer, the stripes catch and release light differently — shifting between warm burgundy and cooler reds depending on angle and hour. A high-gloss resin seal locks the finish and amplifies the depth of each band, giving the sphere a quality closer to colored glass than painted form.
