Mazda MX-5 NB The Mazda MX-5 NB was introduced in 1998 with further revisions being made in 2001. The updated (post 2000) models are commonly known as the MX-5 NB2, while the origi nal versions are referred to as MX-5 NB1. Please Note – each model requires a different ECU, the NB1 requires the MX5NB1X (64 pin) ECU and the NB2 requires the MX5NB2X (72 pin) ECU.
