Plaster cast of a relief panel featuring a venerable Lion's face. Isolated and cast from the jamb of an early 19th century Italian marble fire surround in the Renaissance style. Wo nderful delicate details and historic patina. Dimensions (cm): Height 25.5, Width 16, Depth 4 / 6. To the rear, hand-initialled and stamped with the Alexander Griffin maker's mark and fitted with a brass 'D ring' for wall hanging from a single screw / nail / hook.
