INXS solidifies its evolution into a formidable rock & roll outfit on this release, though the album's strongest moments are concentrated in just three standout tracks. "What You Need" emerges as the clear highlight—a robust, blues-influenced number that showcases Michael Hutchence's most compelling vocal performance, paired with an undeniable groove reminiscent of classic rock sensibilities. "Listen Like Thieves" and "Kiss the Dirt (Falling Down the Mountain)" round out the essential cuts, each demonstrating the band's refined songwriting and tighter arrangements. While the album's overall consistency may be uneven, these three exceptional tracks justify the investment alone, making this a worthwhile addition for INXS enthusiasts and rock collectors alike.
