[[Release Detail]][[Release Description]] The group's second album, released after Samba Carioca—originally formed from Kiyoshi Hasegawa's regular session project—changed its name to Carioca. Having already established themselves through their mastery of Brazilian music, particularly samba and bossa nova, the band broadened its musical scope by absorbing and refining elements of jazz, pop, and rock. In pursuit of a more accessible crossover sound, they ventured in a new creative direction. In addition to the five original members, the album features guest appearances by Shuichi "Ponta" Murakami (drums), Kenji Omura (guitar), Hiroki Inui (keyboards), Shigeharu Mukai (trombone), Jake H. Concepcion (saxophone), and Bread & Butter (chorus). It also includes a cover of a song by Ivan Lins.
