LIU BOLIN - THE HOPE Liu Bolin's work, The Hope is a 2015 work made in a limited edition of 6 examples and is an archival pigment print. The work is part of a series of shots by th e artist dating back to 2013 in Catania, Italy, capturing one of the first ships that transported African migrants to the Italian coast. The invisible artist reconstructs one of the most poignant contemporary tragedies, focusing attention on a hotly debated social and political issue. In this work, the artist hides himself, reminding us of all the lives lost during the arduous crossing to a new life, a new hope. "For me, this location was really significant.
