Live Copepods Live Fish Food 100ml Live copepods are small crustaceans which are an excellent food for saltwater aquarium fish, corals and other invertebrates. Most marine aquariumswill hugely benefit from these little crustaceans whilst seahorses, mandarin fish and anthias may require the addition of regular copepods. Many keepers of these fish tend to keep entire colonies of copepods in their aquariums so that there is a regular food supply for their fish, which often refuse to eat frozen. They will contribute to algae consumption and hep establish an ecosystem within the aquarium that will hugely benefit the welfare of the livestock within. They also benefit corals enormously as they expand their tentacles to feed overnight. Copepods have a high protein content of around 50%, which will help other fish plump up during their nightly prowls such as Scooter Blennies, Mandarin Fish and Wrasses. Copepods, alongside rotifers also make an excellent food source for freshwater fish fry, juveniles and nano species. The small size of these crustaceans makes them suitable for tiny mouths whilst the high level of protein will boost growth and colouration at this most crucial stage in the fishes lives. It is however recommended that a very fine net is used to remove the water from the copepods before adding to the aquarium as it contains salt, which may harm freshwater fish if the concentration is too high in the aquarium.
