A stunning live capture of Miles Davis at his most adventurous, channeling the spirit of Bitches Brew with unbridled energy and modal exploration. The ensemble—featuring Gary Bartz and Steve Grossman on reeds, John McLaughlin's guitar, Herbie Hancock's keyboards, Hermeto Pascoal on percussion, Dave Holland on bass, and Jack DeJohnette's drumming—creates a seamless fusion of acoustic and electric textures. Rather than the noise-driven approach of later live recordings, this session showcases a tightly woven collective sound where each musician finds fresh inspiration under Miles' visionary direction. Funk elements simmer beneath the surface while the group locks into hypnotic, free-flowing grooves that define an era. Show more
