The Livewire Copper Leadcore fishing rod is a much improved design for trolling offshore, particularly with inline planer boards. Most available copper and leadcore fishing rods have too small of guides, and often resemble more of a pool cue than a fishing rod. The old school overweight and super stiff design available today is not necessary with modern day inline planer boards which pull almost effortlessly in most conditions and wire fishing line lengths. The sensitivity of the Livewire is also a departure from the old school pool cue design. Many fish are lost because the angler cannot "feel" the fish behind the inline planer board, particularly when fish are running at the boat.
