The Loblolly Pine tree is a tall growing coniferous evergreen that can be found in more temperate regions of the United States. Loblolly pines are fasting growing trees that mature to between 60 ft. to 80 ft. tall with a spread of 25 ft. - 35 ft. W. Because of it's quick growth rate, in its early stages of growth it can make a great screen before it starts shedding lower branches. It features attractive cinnamon brown bark that scales from the trunk and branches. Loblolly pines have a dark green color to their evergreen needles that are about 2 in. to 4 in. length. As the tree matures it provides shelter for birds. In the early fall they produce reddish-brown pine cones. The seeds of the pine are a favorite snack of squirrels and chipmunks. This tree is a treasure for the wildlife in your area. This pine tree is hardy in USDA Zones 6-9 and can tolerate most soils. Plant in full sun for best results.
