Situated in South Ayrshire, Scotland, Lochlea Distillery is renowned for its distinctive method of producing single malt Scotch whiskies. Located on an operational farm, Lochlea adheres to the 'field-to-bottle' philosophy by cultivating barley on the property and utilising water from a historic borehole. Their careful production method yields a smooth, flavourful and fruity spirit thanks to a lengthy fermentation time and specially made copper pot stills. This specific release is the first of their cask strength releases, matured in first fill bourbon and Oloroso casks, truly showcasing what this distillery have to offer! Nose: Lots of richer darker notes such as coffee beans and cigar boxes (fancy pants) followed up with that classic Lochlea fruit punch to the face Palate: Toasted nuts and more of that Lochlea fruity goodness Finish: Like if a sweet orange gave an oak barrel a cut throat shave
