Batch 3 of this Cask Strength Series builds on the bold impression made by its predecessor, with the same strikingly dark colour—but a completely new recipe for 2025. For the first time in the series, peated casks have been introduced, creating a distinctive balance between rich sherry influence and a subtle undercurrent of smoke. The recipe combines 66% first-fill Oloroso Sherry butts with 33% ex-Islay bourbon barrels. On the nose, vibrant ripe red fruits meet gentle BBQ smoke, while the palate opens with layers of cherries, dark berries, and treacly molasses. These deep flavours are lifted by warming notes of ginger cake, toasted rye, and charred wood. The finish is long, complex, and evolving—where baking spices, salty smoke, and oaky tannins mingle with a delicate floral touch of red roses. A powerful yet elegant dram, showcasing the evolving depth of the series.
