This exquisite locket opens to reveal space for two photos. The exterior is likely gold plated, with a rich obsidian stone with a carved soldier profile, known as an intaglio. Thes e intaglios were used as a signature to stamp wax seals on letters and written communication. A true heirloom gem to add to your collection.
