In this series, black and white vintage photographs sourced from the City of Toronto Archives are fused together with vibrant, organic brush strokes. These images celebrate an impo rtant chapter in Toronto's history, and act as a reminder that the urban environment is an ever-evolving entity. While some of these theatres are no longer in existence, the photographs encapsulate a moment in time, the events that took place here, and the pulsating energy that contributed to Toronto's identity as a city. These photographs exemplify a reverence for the past, for the artistry that went into creating these buildings, and for the art that came forth through them - no longer in their physical form, but contributing to what makes the city of Toronto so special.
