Size - 62 x 83” (closest to twin sized) The Log Cabin Diamond Quilt is made with cotton/linen blend fabric that has been hand dyed in studio using chestnut and iron (grey), walnut (neutral), and cutch (earthy pinks). The pattern used on the front of the quilt is a traditional log cabin motif called Barn Raising. The front and back were machine pieced, meaning the patchwork is machine sewn. The quilting, meaning the stitches running throughout, is done by hand with cutch dyed cotton sashiko thread. Hand quilting is a very laborious and time consuming process but the impact of the hand stitches cannot be mimicked with a machine. The binding is made with cutch dyed fabric and is also sewn by hand. This weighty quilt has 100% wool batting. It is a functional piece that would be best suited as a bedspread or as an accent piece for furniture.
