The Loganberry plant is a Rubus hybrid commonly grown in household gardens. Loganberries are the size of very large blackberries but dark red, almost purple when ripe as they are a cross between a blackberry and a raspberry. The slightly tart, high-flavoured fruit are extremely juicy. This plant is very easy to grow and can continue to fruit for up to 15 years. Plant the Loganberry bush in a sunny location. Prefers well-draining, sandy, loamy soil. Keep well-watered over their first growing season, especially in dry weather. Add composted manure or another fertiliser in autumn or early spring.
