There is no belt and no gearset carrying the force across, so the motor's output arrives as the motor produces it. Logitech rates this one at 11Nm. In practice that is the difference between knowing the front has let go and feeling it let go. Kerb edges, a rear stepping out, the weight moving as you turn in: those arrive as separate sensations rather than one general shove. 11Nm is also enough to hold an arm for a long stint without wearing you out. TRUEFORCE, and why it is not just more torque Most force feedback is calculated from a handful of signals the game exposes. TRUEFORCE takes a different route: Logitech connects it directly to the game's physics and audio engines, then processes that data in the wheel 4,000 times a second. What reaches you is texture rather than weight. Tyre scrub as the fronts start to give up, the engine's vibration changing with load, the surface changing under you mid corner. Titles that do not implement TRUEFORCE still drive on the 11Nm motor, so nothing is lost on the ones that do not support it. The paddles and the button layout The shift paddles are magnetic and run on contactless hall-effect sensors, so there is no switch to wear out and the shift is a clean break rather than a mushy press. Behind them sit dual analogue clutch paddles. Analogue is the point: you can set a bite point and hold it, which is how a standing start is actually launched. The face buttons use Logitech's thumbsweep layout, placed so you can reach them without taking a hand off the rim. The display and five onboard profiles There is an LED display built into the face of the wheel, with an RPM light strip across the top of it. Both are configurable, and the settings save into five onboard racing profiles. Onboard is the useful part. The profiles live in the wheel rather than in software on one machine, so the car you set up for a wet GT race is still there when you switch platforms or sit down at a different PC. Changing between them is done at the wheel, mid session, without alt-tabbing out of the race. Three versions, and how to pick one The wheel is sold in three versions, and the one you choose sets which console it is licensed for. PlayStation and PC. Xbox and PC. Or PC only. The motor, TRUEFORCE, the paddles and the display are the same across all three. Every version runs on PC, so the question is only which console you want it to work on. The faceplate button markings follow the version: the Xbox wheel is labelled for Xbox, the PlayStation wheel for PlayStation. Logitech's RS Wheel Hub pairs with any compatible Logitech G direct drive base, and the hub itself comes in its own console versions. So a PlayStation and PC base with an Xbox and PC hub on it covers all three platforms from one wheel, which is Logitech's own recommendation for buyers who switch. The hub also takes Racing Series rims, so the base is not locked to the faceplate it arrives with. What arrives, and what to add The wheel comes as a base and rim together with a table clamp, power supply and USB cable, so it works on a desk straight away and bolts to a cockpit later if you build one. The obvious next piece is a set of Logitech G PRO Pedals, which are built for this base. After that it is usually a gear lever: the RS H-Shifter for a gated gearbox, or the RS Shifter and Handbrake if you want one unit that does both.
