The 2014 Loimer Langenlois Grüner Veltliner Terrassen Kamptal DAC Reserve, sourced from 20-40 year old vines and aged on fine lees for over 6 months; has rich aromas of green apple, melon, lemon, light butter and vanilla on the nose and green apple, lees, light butter and vanilla on the palate. It is a medium bodied, extra-dry, fruity to integrated wine; with refreshing acidity and a long, creamy finish. Though food friendly, this is a sipping wine; drink now and for the next 3-5 years. Wine Description The Grüner Veltliner Kamptal Terrassen DAC Reserve reflects what the Kamptal region offers at its best in dry white wine. It delivers great fruit concentration and has a high ageing potential. A minimum of 13% alcohol is required for the DAC Reserve category and will not be released before April of the year following the harvest. This wine is sourced from 100% estate owned vineyards. In September, the Grüner Veltliner grapes were selectively harvested. The grapes then went through maceration on the must for some hours, pressed and fermented spontaneously in big wooden barrels. The wine was then bottled after extended fine lees aging. Tasting Notes Ripe spicy-peppery and herbal notes. The clear and fine, juicy fruit along with beautiful acidity make this a very animated and drinkable wine. Because of its structure and intense mineral finish, the medium-body displays a lovely depth. Food Pairing Perfect for light starters, veal and chicken dishes, even spicy ones.
