Lomulen was the third born of four siblings, he remembers his childhood as full of energy and strength. Growing into a young man, he embraced family life through mariiage, blessed with three children—two daughters and a son. Sadly, one child passed away, leaving him with two to care for.In his early years, Lomulen worked hard, herding his neighbors' livestock to provide for his family. Life seemed stable until tragedy struck; the livestock were stolen, leaving him with no source of income. Forced to seek a new beginning, Lomulen moved to Isiolo’s Maisha Bora area. There, he found work as a watchman at the local chief’s residence, where the chief offered him a small wooden house to live in. However, the house came with no resources to support his family, and his modest monthly salary barely met their basic needs.Despite his relentless efforts, life in Isiolo was filled with challenges. In 2020, desperate to improve his family’s living conditions, Lomulen turned to burning and selling charcoal. But this endeavor brought misfortune—an accident left him blind in one eye, adding to the heavy burden he already carried.Struggling to support his wife and children, Lomulen’s days were marked by poverty and hardship. It was during this difficult time that Mama Ibado Charity (MIC) stepped into his life.When the MIC team visited Lomulen, they saw the extent of his struggles and the resilience in his heart. Recognizing his dire situation, they immediately recommended him for food assistance under their seniors feeding program. For the first time in years, Lomulen felt the weight of his struggles begin to lift. The regular food support not only alleviated his immediate needs but also gave him hope for a better tomorrow.Lomulen’s journey is a testament to resilience and the transformative power of community support.
