Try to harvest before they get over 10-12 inches long for the best flavor and texture. Common Diseases: Eggplant can get some powdery mildew, spots, or blight in very wet conditions. Improve airflow by spacing plants 3 FT apart and prune out old, dead, yellowing, or heavily diseased leaves. Spray with 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide per gallon of water to clean and disinfect. Common Pests: The most common pests when growing eggplant are aphids and spider mites. Knock aphids off your plants with a strong blast of water from your water hose.
