Long White Cloud II (2023) is a sculptural pendant lamp by New Zealand artist John Allen. Carved from a single piece of pōhutukawa harvested from Musick Point on Auckland’s eastern coast, it is polished to a sleek, smooth finish — the timber’s warm reddish grain glowing against the 12v LED neon light that runs the full length of its underside, tracing the natural curve of the wood like a horizon line at dusk. Named for Aotearoa — the Land of the Long White Cloud. Designed to hang over a dining table or kitchen bench, Long White Cloud II brings the quiet drama of the New Zealand landscape into the heart of the home.
