Longan is usually one to one and one-fifth inches in diameter. The texture is crisp and the flesh is sweet and juicy. The taste is similar to lychee but without the floral note. Customers prefer longan attached to the branches over the loose package. Longan is available from early summer to early fall. Handling Tip Selection Longan with dry light brown skin and no white spots. The skin becomes a darker brown as the fruit ages.
