Potamogeton nodosus (Longleaf Pondweed or Knotty Pondweed) is a fully aquatic, perennial plant native to Texas and much of North America. With long, ribbon-like floating leaves and slender flower spikes that rise above the water's surface, it plays a key role in freshwater ecosystems. Often used as an oxygenator in water gardens and natural ponds, this submerged-rooting plant thrives in full sun to part shade and helps provide habitat and cover for aquatic life.
