This picturesque Derbyshire village is one I have painted in a few different seasons, but I think my favourite is when it is wearing it’s winter cloak. I like the slight simplifica tion that the snow gives everything, enabling us to concentrate on atmosphere and light.I chose this elevated view, with the view of the rooftops, the slightly misty distance, and the undulating shapes of the far hills which are so redolent of the Peak District.
