She also judged a number of poetry contests including the well-known Young Pegasus Poetry Contest sponsored by Trinity University. Through the years, she has participated in many poetry clubs, reading clubs and organizations in San Antonio, Texas, where she has lived since she and her family chose it as their permanent home at the end of her husband’s Air Force career.
