This decorative piece is formed from a dark, black-ish brown clay body with grog. It is coil built, formed by layering hand-rolled coils of clay to shape the vessel gradually by hand. The outside is left unglazed so the piece retains the raw surface of the clay, allowing the material itself to remain the primary expression of form. Designed to anchor a space as a larger sculptural presence. Loop investigates the union of form and function through sculptural vessels with integrated handholds. Each piece balances weight, proportion, and gesture, transforming practical elements into deliberate sculptural accents. Mostly solid exteriors are punctuated by a single central opening, while surfaces retain the organic marks of hand and process. Handles, when present, emerge organically from the form, shaping how the object engages with the hand (although not necessarily meant to be held), the space it occupies, and the interplay of light and shadow across its surfaces.
