The loose ring snaffle with copper lozenge is fast becoming a popular bit. This bit is very similar to the French link snaffle, but the smooth central lozenge gives a slightly more positive action on the tongue than the flat plate of the French link. The double joint is often favoured by horses as the lack of palate pressure makes the bit more comfortable and the pressure is evenly distributed across the tongue and bars of the mouth.
