Erioboytra japonica Loquat seedlings have an evocative tropical form, with their large, leathery evergreen foliage and dense, compact form. Their delightfully sweet fruit is aromat ic and looks like a small round apricot. The tree is self-fertile and hardy to 12° F, blooming in late winter and sets fruit in areas with above-freezing winters and long, hot summers. It grows well, but rarely fruits in the Pacific Northwest. Loquat trees can grow to 20' tall or be kept small in a pot.
