All Kits come with 4 individually prepared inks: The LA ink kit has Cochineal (pink), Pomegranate (green), Copper Scrap (blue) and Death Metal Black. This kit contains the history of plants important to the people of Los Angeles. These curated colors contain Cochineal which is an historically important dye source to the Latino culture and produces a pink of the morning sky. Sage Green is made with Pomegranate brought by Spanish missionaries in the 18th century. The big blue cloudless sky can be found in Copper Scrap, made with a discarded pipe and stirred for many weeks. Death Metal Black plays homage to Los Angeles’s music scene, recalling black jeans and night skies without stars. It’s made with iron water and plant material. These botanical inks were sustainably and carefully sourced and handcrafted for your enjoyment. Please shake before use. Best used on watercolor paper or other porous substances. This kit comes with a homemade porcelain palette and 2 handmade yucca brushes.
