"Cloudmirror" is the first release from Lost Air, a Massachusetts-based experimental sound project by Ryan Taylor. Emerging from the Boston punk scene (Exit Order, Sunshine Ward), Taylor turns to a quieter, unaccompanied atmosphere with Lost Air. Comprised of eight instrumental pieces, "Cloudmirror" floats through a suite of somber, aural meditations that transfigure personal grief and disorientation into shadowy, minimalist tone poems. Blending textured field recordings, delicate acoustic orchestrations, and dark ambient soundscapes, the gauzy stretch of tracks lace to form an intricate, cohesive whole. The result is sonically hazy and ethereal, true to the solitary, conscious moments in which the album was produced. In the deepest breaths of "Cloudmirror", chamber-like melodies collapse into windswept, decomposing noise, and a spectral sense of reflection presents itself. 33 RPM black vinyl LP housed in a tip-on jacket with 11x11 printed insert.
