Madison Torio, Lost but not Deserted, 2025, oil on canvas Giclée print on archival matte paperSolid oak frames with real glass are available in natural oak or a walnut finish. Prints are shipped framed and ready to hang on your wall!Lost but not Deserted was the first oil painting I ever started and at 27 years old, I already felt behind. After I got laid off I started taking oil painting classes, working on this desert landscape over the course of 10 weeks. Finishing this painting reminded me that I could still learn new skills and continue growing in whatever I put my mind to. Despite the deserted landscape I had painted and how lost I felt career wise, I’m grateful that I never felt alone. Betting on yourself and saying goodbye to a corporate safety net can be really scary. I know that without my friends and family supporting me, it would have been infinitely scarier. I may feel lost at times, but as long as I have my people around me, I know I’ll be okay.
