On Christmas Eve, ten-year-old Goose hides his fireman father's car keys to stop him from going to work. Instead, his mother drives his dad which drastically turns to tragedy. A ye ar later Goose, now a lost soul, is troubled and searching to replace all he has lost when a mysterious stranger (Eddie Izzard, "Valkyrie") arrives. The stranger appears to have a special power which enables him to find what each person has lost on Christmases past. With the stranger's help, Goose tries to find magic and hope once more.
