In Australia, louvres are an almost iconic architectural feature. They are a very sustainable solution to cooling in our hot summers. I grew up with these and still find their form and function fascinating. The solid Aboriginal Australian fabrics in warm earthy colours on my sample also help to place them in central Australia - although these blocks look great in large florals and contemporary solids. There are three sizings of the blocks; small, medium and large. Each sizing also has the main louvrez sizing and another border block that can unite a set of five into a superblock. Then you can alter their direction..... quite a few permutations to play with.
