Two birds turn toward each other over a large brown leaf on this black panel, their wings laid out in bars of red, blue, green and yellow. Bright orange outline traces every shape, and square spirals in pale blue and orange anchor the lower corners. It is 14.5 inches wide and 11 inches high, a good size for a small frame or a cushion.A mola is a hand stitched panel made by the Guna people of Panama, once known as the Kuna. Several layers of colored cotton are stacked, then cut down through one layer at a time so the colors underneath show through, and every raw edge is turned and stitched closed by hand.
