Lover's Eye Rings became popular in the Georgian period. Affluent individuals would commission hand painted miniatures which were encased into precious pieces of jewellery worn as secret valentines to their lovers. Often only the possessor and the portrait subject would know of the existence. We sourced an antique piece, a crystal glass and silver frame brooch (period unknown), and have encased a copy of an original Georgian eye painting beneath the convex glass and then attached it to a silver band to make this beautiful repurposed Badger's Velvet ring.
