Christian Flindt designed the LP Grand family in 2016 to bring Louis Poulsen's “Design to Shape Light” philosophy to architectural scale — light he described as “the sun on a day where it glows through misty air.” The LP Grand Surface Mounted sets the family's curved, open rings directly on the ceiling: a large angled reflector encircles the diffuser, mixing softly diffused downlight with indirect light bounced off the ceiling plane, so the fixture never reads as a harsh point source. Surface mounting makes this the LP Grand for rooms where a pendant would hang too low — corridors, entrances, landings and homes with standard ceilings — and a row of them lights a long hallway rhythmically.
