Alternator Pulley - overrunning pulley with an integral one-way clutch, part of the auxiliary drive on the 2.2L TD4 (DW12) diesel engine. Driven by the auxiliary drive belt, it tra nsmits drive to the alternator rotor shaft. The built-in freewheel clutch allows the alternator to keep turning when the crankshaft decelerates sharply, decoupling the alternator's rotating mass from the belt. A worn pulley shows up as belt rattle or vibration at idle and on overrun, and shortens belt and tensioner life. Show more
