Air Temperature Sensor for diesel applications, forming part of the engine management sensing circuit on the air intake side. The sensor measures the temperature of the air enterin g the engine and returns that value to the engine control unit, which uses it alongside the pressure and mass-flow signals to establish air density and set fuelling accordingly. Depending on the application it is mounted in the turbocharger intake ducting or in the inlet manifold.
