NOx Trap Temperature Sensor - Rear from the exhaust aftertreatment system of the 2.0L I4 Ingenium diesel engine. The sensor occupies the rear position in the aftertreatment train, reporting exhaust gas temperature downstream of the NOx trap to the engine control module. The ECM uses that reading to confirm the trap has reached and held its regeneration temperature and to protect the aftertreatment hardware from thermal overload. Fitted to EU6 diesel applications with a diesel particulate filter. A drifting or failed sensor typically presents as a stored emissions fault code, an aborted regeneration cycle or an emissions warning lamp. The sensor threads into a boss in the exhaust; apply anti-seize compound to the threads and tighten to the specified torque.
