Exhaust Differential Pressure Sensor - part of the diesel particulate filter monitoring circuit in the exhaust aftertreatment system. The sensor is connected across the particulate filter by two pressure take-off pipes and reports the pressure drop between the inlet and outlet sides. The engine control module reads that differential to estimate soot loading and to decide when to start and when to end a regeneration cycle. A faulty sensor commonly causes repeated or aborted regenerations, a filter-blocked warning, or a drop into restricted performance mode. Diesel applications only. Show more
