Lua is the Vietnamese word for silk. Lua scarves are made by dedicated farming villagers in Vietnam, Cambodia, and India using centuries of techniques of harvesting, weaving, dyein g, and printing. During the rice and harvesting seasons, the villagers work in the fields tending their crops. In the off seasons, they sustain themselves by producing rich and high-quality textiles. Working communally, each family within the village assumes a particular task in the development and production process.
