Lucky Boy Restaurant in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Before I set out on my Route 66 road trip, I learned that my author friend Livia Blackburne grew up in Albuquerque. She recommended I stop by and try an egg foo young burger at Lucky Boy — it was delicious! Livia’s newest book, Clementine and Danny Save the World (and Each Other), is inspired by a friend who grew up around Lucky Boy. Many immigrant children cannot afford after-school programs or summer camps and often spend their time doing homework and helping out at their parents’ restaurants when not in school.
