Lucky Tweed is woolen spun: the fiber is pre-dyed, colors of Donegal nepps are blended into the dyed wool, the fiber is carded into a batt, and then spun keeping the fibers lightly jumbled, adding texture without bulk. The Donegal tweed nepps within the yarn contribute to its distinctive color and texture, creating a captivating effect. The depth of color is astounding, and we love this yarn for both garments and accessories. After spinning, the two singles are twisted together into a 2-ply aran weight yarn. The 100-gram, 210 yard skeins are hefty, and when knit at the recommended aran gauge, each skein goes a long way.
