LUCREZIA - eyeshadow Lucrezia is a soft warm cream and soft tonal highlights of rose and green. Glowing/Lustre finish. Her shade is inspired by Holliday Grainger's portrayal of Lucrezia Borgia in the Showtime series, The Borgias. Lucrezia Borgia was the daughter of Pope Alexander VI and Vannozza dei Cattanei. Much of her history is based on rumor and speculation, and she has most often been cast as a femme fatale. Several rumours have persisted throughout the years, primarily speculating as to the nature of the extravagant parties thrown by the Borgia family. Many of these concern allegations of incest, poisoning, and murder on her part; however, no historical basis for these rumours has ever been brought forward, beyond allegations made by the rivals of the Borgias.What we do know is that she was strong, capable and politically instrumental in her family through several marriages forged by politics. She died from complications while giving birth to her 8th child. IGNIS ANTIQUITA is a permanent collection of eyeshadows inspired by the amazing, fiery, passionate, strong women who have been largely forgotten in our history books, or had their histories revised due to the fact that they were women. Historically seen as the weaker sex, women were typically unable to contribute to politics, academia, science, or war. The name "Ignis Antiquita" is beautifully representative of the sentiment behind this collection. It is Latin, and translates to English as "Ancient Fire" or "Fire of Old". Ignis is fire- as it relates to the fiery spirit and passion. Antiquita is old, ancient, time-honored, revered, primeval. The collection features women from ancient times, spanning many cultures and areas. While not everyone spoke Latin, it is undoubtedly one of the most widely spoken languages of the ancient world, which many current day languages are rooted in.APPLICATION TIPS: These colors apply best over a light layer of primer, patted or brushed gently. The effects of the colors become muted if you use heavy primer or a strong glue/epoxy type of primer- or foiling. Best effects are achieved with a light layer of a primer such as Nyx or Two Faced eyeshadow primer. Repeated brushing or buffing will also mute the chromatic effects.
