The legend goes that 17 year old Lucy from Bowcombe would visit the wooden effigy of fourteenth century crusader knight Edward Estur in St. Olave's Church in nearby Gatcombe every day. On the 13th June 1831, a freak thunderstorm hit and whilst Lucy would enter the church one final time, she would never leave. Lucy was never seen again, but her name mysteriously began appearing alongside Estur's in books of medieval history...Based on the local folk tale, Lucy Lightfoot features swirls of yellow and white, speckled with blue and flecks of silver. Our large ghost figurines measure approximately 8cm tall and are hand-made with care on the Isle of Wight, thought to be the most haunted island in the world. Each ghost is completely unique and features an Isle of Wight shaped base. Please note that by virtue of the hand-making and finishing process, minor imperfections or colour variations may be present. These are normal and add to the character of each spirit, with each one being a true one-of-a-kind.
